Strange impression. Let's say I expected more. This wine was rated at 91 points by Wine Advocate, quite high. But, in my opinion, good wine should have complex nose and taste. Not this one. First, second and third thing you notice in smell and taste is raspberry. A little bit of sugar is not bad by itself, but with strong raspberry taste doesn't work. Aerator makes wine smoother, but doesn't change the impression. Probably won't buy it again, there are better riojas out there.
Had it with ham (well, it's Xmas). Not a bad pairing for lamb or good steak as well, but again, you can buy better wines.
