2014 Veramonte Sauvignon blanc

I like Chilean wines. They have class. Some people say that because Chile still have pre philloxera grapes they are different from European grapes, which are grafted on Concorde rootstock. I beg to differ, I wouldn't be able to say in blind tests whether this wine came from France or Chile. Quite substantial for a white wine, it still has distinctive Sauvignon Blanc taste: some honey, some spice, just a little bit of sugar.
Enjoyed it with sea scallop meal. It would be great with any seafood.

2013 Bilette Bouquet de Provence

Another honey and spice Rose. The nose is more like spices and summer field flowers, taste is pure spiced honey. I liked Château de Campuget a little bit more, but this one is a very good Rose from Provence. I had it with seafood paella, it would be good with any seafood, veal, poultry, rabbit. Some say it's good with beef, can't say: I prefer full bodied reds in such case, like Côtes du Rhône or Rioja.
Would definitely buy it again.

2014 Château de Campuget

Honey and spices. Honestly, I hate honey. But somehow it works for me in this wine. The first impression in the nose: spiced honey. Taste: honey and spices. Very well balanced, strong rose. Enjoyed it, would definitely buy again.
Worked great with sea scallops and pasta, would be great accompaniment to any seafood. Wouldn't be bad with poultry, rabbit or veal.

2014 Casa Farrelli Terre Siciliane

First impression: cherry bomb. Second impression: not so simple. There is some subtle notes in the nose, some kind of flowery hint. Very strong taste of cherry. Some hint of spice. A little bit of sugar, enough to be noticeable, not enough to kill the wine. Surprisingly mild for sicilian wine, I'm used to powerful ones.
Enjoyed it with pizza, would buy again.

Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé

Non-vintage champagne. Do I care? This one shares my best champagne list with 2003 Dom Pérignon and Jacquesson & Fils 1990 Grand Vin Signature.
Note: non-vintage doesn't mean it's the same every year. I had Billecart-Salmon before couple of times, it was very good. But this release is great. And under $60! Celebrating New Year outside of home, in French oversea department, it was a tough choice. Every supermarket, from tiny to huge, had an excellent selection of champagne. But after reading tasting notes, we selected Billecart-Salmon.
Light, crisp, with strong citrus notes, some extra berry mix and buttery (or avocado, your choice) finish. But it's impossible to describe this masterpiece. It should be enjoyed with appetizers or desserts, but wouldn't spoil any food.
If you want to try great champagne without mortgaging your home or raiding an IRA, try it. As far as I know, it's available in US under $100. You will like it. If not, well, tastes differ or maybe you don't like champagne at all.

2014 Chateau des Bormettes

Best Rosé I ever had! Mix of fruit in the nose and taste, including pronounced peach note. Avocado finish. And wonderful note of wild rose berries.
It was a nice accompaniment to mahi mahi dinner. Would be good pairing for any seafood, also for poultry and veal
