2016 Château d'Aigueville

I loved 2015. Drunk more than a box. Tried 2016, didn't get it. This is the second bottle, now I wasn't that tired and was able to understand it.
This wine is too young. Should have a huge potential. Once you open it, even after the aerator, all you can feel in nose and taste is sour cherry. Not an unpleasant note, but, from Côtes du Rhône, I expect more. No complexity. Well, I was disappointed. But, while I ate dinner, time passed. After about half an hour in an open bottle, everything changed. Wine came alive. Everything you expect from Rhône wines: a bit of tobacco, a bit of old leather, subtle notes improving taste greatly. Sour cherry was there still, but not overpowering.
Good wine, but not ready for drinking now. Or should be decanted for at least half an hour.
Had it with grilled skirt steak
Update 06/16/20: this wine has to be opened at least 30 min before drinking. After that, and through aerator, it tastes great. Complex berries, with sour cherry most noticeable, a bit of tobacco, a bit of old leather. As usual, Rhône wines are the best with game, this one was perfect with bison strip steak.
